In this video "Leading in uncertain times", I am interviewing Didier Ongena, the Managing Director of Microsoft Belux.
In his interview, Didier is underlining the shifts and evolutions the Covid19 crisis has brought along: digitalisation, automation and a shift in the Leadership paradigm. He is shedding some light on the 3 key leadership principles at Microsoft, which were defined within their “The New World of Work” concept, launched 15 years ago and which led to a cultural transformation at Microsoft. Today’s Covid crisis has demonstrated that these leadership principles are the right ones to follow and that they support the organization’s resilience.
An important point he shared is the importance of inclusion in a working environment that becomes hybrid (and will remain hybrid for the longer term). How do you ensure that all employees feel “in”, whether they work from home, the office or clients’ premises?
A third key take-away is his invitation to rethink organizational resilience for the future. Which processes and way of working will support resilience at an organizational level to ensure activities can be maintained in face of unprecedented situations? How can we maintain our client engagement in an ever-changing environment?
